Asad Anwar emerged the winner in the four wheel drive turbo during the 4th round of Kenya national Auto-Cross co-sponsored by KCB Bank over the weekend at the Gicheha farm in Nakuru.

Asad registered the fastest time in heat two clocking 01:54:55 minutes, maintaining 01:55:00 in heats 2 and 3.

“Thanks to KCB involvement in Autocross am back in full force, the sponsorship has seen over 30 entries today which is a sign of positive things to come, the circuit was excellent and I am excited to have won today,” said an excited Asad.

The list of contenders included legendary Azar Anwar, his brother Asad Anwar, Frank Tundo, Rehan Shah, McRae Kimathi, and Kenneth Nteere.

“It wasn’t a good day for me, I made a mistake on the fiery heat that cost me, and I really had to be cautious in the remaining heats but am glad for the podium,” said Anwar.

Shahil Mughal drove two seconds faster in in the final heat to grab the crown from seasoned Gillian Bailey. Ryan Bailey continued to impress aiming for the top crown this season clocking 06:0877 ahead of Rio Smith.

KCB Bank Great Rift Regional Sales Manager John Githinji lauded all the drivers who took part in the Nakuru Outing.

“It was a virtuoso display in this weekend’s outing. The competitors deserve a hearty round of applause for the great job. We are delighted to say that the KCB Nakuru Autocross was as successful as ever this time,” said John.

Yuvraj Matharu edged out four competitors to win the Bambino class.
